Teaching from the Learner's Brain

Teaching from the Learner's Brain

Nowadays, we find ourselves in a constantly changing society where the characteristics and needs of our students are also different.
Teachers need to be in continuous educational training, updating, and innovation to be able to provide a tailored and adequate response to our learners.
A few years ago, I attended a training course given by José Antonio Fernández Bravo, a great teacher capable of amazing you with his way of understanding education and transmitting his knowledge.
Sometimes, when we have an overwhelming workload in the classroom or set ourselves objectives beyond the possibilities of our educational reality, we can feel frustrated and lose perspective of our teaching work. When this happens, it's important to stop, take a step back, and reflect. At those moments, Fernández Bravo's words: “teach from the learner’s brain,” “adapt my gaze to their childlike gaze”, make you remember the true essence of education and your role as a teacher.
I leave you with a brief excerpt from “BBVA Aprendemos juntos” where you can see Fernández Bravo sharing what children have taught him. I hope you like it as much as I do.
